English for Families

Do you wish to have an opportunity to combine an English course with a holiday in Ireland together with your child or children?  We can offer a specially arranged course for you and your child (ren) . Parents will be in one class and your children in another. However, you will be in the same building, so you can 'keep an eye' on your children. This course will allow you to help your child(ren)'s learning of English while enabling you to develop your own language skills.  If parents wish to bring small babies we can organise a baby-sitting service.  Also Crèche facilities are also available locally and can be arranged easily.

Children's courses can be divied into two groups

Age 4-8
Age 8-12
Older ages can join the teenage programme

Children's courses.

We offer 2 programmes.
GE1 15 hours per week tuition in the mornings. We concentrate on encouraging communication. The focus of the course, as you can imagine, is different from teen and adults. There is more focus on communication and creativity (drawings songs play etc.).

GE3    15 hours per week tuition in the mornings. Plus afternoon activities. Activities are more suitable for children. Normally parents can accompany if they wish but the activities themselves may not suit parents.

The fees are the same as for adults
Accommodation.

We can provide
  • host family where we would find a family with a large house and children of similar ages. Therefore, they will have friends when they arrive this will decrease homesickness and make the transition easier. We encourage the Irish children to introduce their European guests to their friends as this increases exposure to English. They will have excellent full board accommodation with single room, breakfast, packed lunch and evening meals 7 days per week. We can find families living near the town centre or in the countryside.  The price is €180 per week More details are available at http://www.ksoe.com/accommodation.htm

  • self catering. Please see attached a list of self catering accommodation ranked on distance from the school, price and amount of bedrooms. Most have web links for you to take a look. They or you can make the booking or if you prefer I can make the booking. One word of warning. Most of the self catering accommodation in Killarney gets booked quite quickly so I would advise speed with the booking.
As an example we normally use the following
