NOTE: The activity programmes are also available on a part-time basis for adults and small children. This means that it is possible to pick and choose activities from the listing available on the first day of the course and to pay per activity rather than sign up to the whole activity programme.

Course Description:

The English Plus Activities Course is designed for those students that wish to take part in a group class to improve their English  but would also like to partake in the school’s interesting and varied activity programme. These programmes are adapted to suit three different age groups:
- adults
- teenagers
- children (3-12)


The adult programme has more of a cultural emphasis including visits to Ross Castle, Muckross House, Geraldine Museum aswell as outdoor activities such as cycling and walks in the National Park. (please see sample adult timetable )

The teenage programme has more of a sports emphasis including playing indoor volleyball and basketball, learning how to play gaelic football and tag rugby aswell as other fun activities such as kayaking, scavenger hunts and ghost tours (please see sample teenager timetable)

The children programme has more of an educational focus with activities such as arts and crafts, drama, irish dancing, nature trails aswell as fun activities such as visits to indoor and outdoor play areas and animal farms  (see sample children's timetable).

Day Trips:

Also included is a day trip every Saturday to one of the following destinations:

a) Dingle Town and Dingle Peninsular
b) Cork City and Blarney Castle
c) Fota Wildlife Park
d) The Gap of Dunloe (Killarney)

All activities are performed through the medium of English and are closely supervised by school staff, often teachers themselves.

Prices also include:

  • All course materials
  • Free transport on arrival from Killarney train or bus station
  • An information pack on arrival
  • Bus transport to and from school
  • Wifi and internet access (adults only)
  • A certificate of attendance and achievement on completion of course
  • Free bike rental on a first come first served basis

 

English Plus Horseriding

Course Name English Plus Horseriding (GE3A)

Level Requirement None:  6 different levels available from Beginner to Advanced
Course Length As required by the student
Content 15 hours General English (Group Class); 10 hours Horseriding + Saturday Day Trip
Timetable Available Easter and August only

Price €550 per week

Course Description:

This course is designed for those who wish to improve their English whilst at the same time developing their horseriding skills. Available only to teenagers during Easter or the summer months, the horseriding part of the course will be delivered by Killarney Riding Stables, one of the best equestrian centres in Kerry. Located on the edge of the Killarney National Park this riding centre offers a series of delightful treks through the woodlands and alongside the lakes of the park, aswell as lessons, jumping, pony games and stable management in their indoor ménage area.

Also included is a day trip every Saturday to one of the following destinations:
