Planning your stayAn academic year

A school year for the whole family.

This option is different from a short summer family course. Your children join a local Irish school for their education, while you attend adult English classes with us.

Parents can choose part-time or full-time English study, depending on their goals and the time available while their children are at school. We can discuss a course and timetable that suit your circumstances.

Two separate enrolments

Your English course is arranged with Killarney School of English. Your child’s school place is arranged separately with the relevant primary or secondary school.

Contact local schools early to discuss places, admission requirements and the appropriate year group. A place at our English school does not guarantee a place for your child at a local school.

English study for parents.

Part-time General English

Agree a number of weekly study hours within the available class timetable. This can suit parents balancing English study with family commitments.

Full-time General English

Our standard adult course provides 15 hours of group English each week. Discuss your intended course length and learning goals with us.

Morning classes during the school year

From September to June, adult morning classes run from 9:45am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday. Before booking, compare these times with your child’s school timetable and agree your attendance with us.

Tell us about school drop-off and collection commitments. Your course arrangement depends on suitable classes being available at your English level.

General English lessons develop speaking, listening, reading and writing, together with grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Course materials and a certificate of attendance and achievement on completion are included.
