How do you select your host families?

We have our own accommodation officer who visits all our families – not just when they are new, but regularly. Our families comply with the ACELS & MEI Code of Practice for host families. All host families are Garda Vetted (police background check)

How many students stay with a host family?

Typically, if you are a teenager or adult, your host family will have one or two students. Students have their own room. If you are a family, you will not be sharing the host family with any other student.

What happens if I do not like my host family?

We understand that sometimes it is difficult to get used to living in a new culture and our host families also understand this. However, if for some reason you are uncomfortable with your host family during your first week, we will find you another family. We know how important it is to be comfortable in your homestay situation. You are requested to speak to the Accommodation Manager (Sheena) if you have any difficulties.
