Can I get a job?
Yes you can.
- Killarney is one of Ireland’s busiest and best-known tourist towns and there are many jobs in the tourism industry These jobs are usually in hotels, B&Bs, restaurants or pubs.
- The school will help you find a job by
- advertising suitable jobs (Director Feargal’s family have worked in tourism for over 100 years)
- helping you with your CV
- Organising monthly job clinics
- providing a dedicated helpline if you have any problem in your job
- A valid Stamp 2 immigration permission allows you to work up to 20 hours per week during term time and up to 40 hours per week during June, July, August and September and from 15 December to 15 January.
Where can I live?

Is Killarney cheaper than Dublin?
Yes it is.
GoStudy’s current estimate gives Killarney a significant cost advantage over Dublin. It estimates weekly living costs of approximately €285 in Killarney compared with €439 in Dublin. Over the 33-week programme, that could mean a saving of approximately €5,082.
- Shared accommodation is significantly cheaper.
- You don’t need public transport in Killarney. Most students walk or cycle. We also have a school minibus which can collect you from your stops for a minimal fee.
- Night time socialising is cheaper in Killarney than Dublin.

What happens before I arrive at school?
When you are enrolled at school you will be sent
- Letter of acceptance for your visa application, where required
- Medical Insurance
- Learner Protection Insurance
- Instructions on how to apply for the visa.
- Instructions on how to open a bank account
- Instructions on how to apply for a PPS Number
- A pre arrival document confirming your bus stop, pick up times, English language class,
- A student handbook
What happens when I arrive at school?
On your first day we will
- show you your classroom and introduce your teacher
- give you a quick tour of the school
- introduce you to key staff
- give you a welcome pack
- check your accommodation is OK
- add you to the students’ WhatsApp group.
In the first week you will
- have a meeting with Director Feargal to check all your paperwork, visa application, bank account and PPS
- have a meeting with Director of Studies Nicola to discuss your course and all school matters
- have a second English level assessment in class to conform you are at the correct level
