Who are private lessons for?

One-to-one tuition is available for adults, teenagers and children aged 4–12, subject to a suitable teacher and timetable being available. Lessons are adapted to the student’s age, English level and goals.

This option suits students who want individual attention, have particular language difficulties to address, or need English for a specific purpose. It can also provide additional practice alongside a group course.

No minimum English level is required. Tell us about your current ability and what you hope to achieve so we can discuss appropriate lessons.

Teaching location

Adult private lessons take place at our main school on Muckross Road, beside Killarney National Park. We will confirm the teaching location and arrangements for younger students before arrival.

Individual lesson content

What do you study?

Materials are selected from a range of sources to suit your learning needs. Tell us about your goals in advance, and let us know if there are documents or materials you would like to bring to your lessons.

General English

Develop speaking, listening, reading and writing, with lesson content suited to your English level.

Specific language needs

Focus on areas such as spoken communication, written English or topics you find difficult.

Professional English

Discuss English for contexts such as law, medicine, hotel and catering, or tourism. Specialist content and suitable teaching arrangements must be agreed in advance.

Planning your lessons

Scheduling and course length.

Weekday afternoons · 2:00–5:00pm

Private lessons are normally arranged within the afternoon teaching period, Monday to Friday. You book the number of hours you need; the timetable shown is the available teaching period, not a compulsory three-hour daily course.

We will confirm teacher availability and your lesson times.

Fees & inclusions

Private lesson fees.

€50 per hour

The tuition cost depends on the total number of hours booked. For example, five hours of private lessons cost €250.

A certificate of attendance and achievement on completion
Free bike rental, on a first-come, first-served basis
