English Plus Afternoon Activities Courses

NOTE:
The activity programmes are also available on a part-time basis for adults and small children. This means that it is possible to pick and choose activities from the listing available on the first day of the course and to pay per activity rather than sign up to the whole activity programme.

Course Description:

The English Plus Activities Course is designed for those students that wish to take part in a group class to improve their English  but would also like to partake in the school’s interesting and varied activity programme. These programmes are adapted to suit three different age groups:
– adults
– teenagers
– children (3-12)

 

 

The adult programme has more of a cultural emphasis including visits to Ross Castle, Muckross House, Geraldine Museum as well as outdoor activities such as cycling and walks in the National Park. (please see  2017 Adult activity programme summer

 

The teenage programme has more of a sports emphasis including playing indoor volleyball and basketball,learning how to play gaelic football and tag rugby aswell as other fun activities such as kayaking, scavenger hunts and ghost tours (please see 2017 Teen activity programme summer

 

The children programme has more of an educational focus with activities such as arts and crafts, drama, Irish dancing, nature trails aswell as fun activities such as visits to indoor and outdoor play areas and animal farms  (see

Day Trips:

Also included is a day trip every Saturday to one of the following destinations:

Adults and Children:

Day Trip to Glengarriff boat trip over to Garnish Island; a paradise of gardens and tropical plants.

Day Trip to the quaint picturesque town of Dingle; boat trip to see Fungi the dolphin with its magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean
Day Trip to Kenmare and star cruise into Kenmare Bay to see the grey seals and other unique wildlife

Sightseeing visit to Cork including trip to the famous English Market.

Teenagers

Sightseeing visit to Cork including trip to the famous English Market.

Ballyhass Lakes Adventure Centre

Eclipse Activity & Adventure Cente

Surfing at Inch Beach with Kingdom Waves Surf School

Day Trip to the quaint picturesque town of Dingle and visit to Dingle Climbing Wall

 

All activities are performed through the medium of English and are closely supervised by school staff, often teachers themselves.

English Plus Horse riding

Content 15 hours General English (Group Class); 10 hours Horse riding + Saturday Day Trip

Price €650 per week

 

Course Description:

This course is designed for those who wish to improve their English whilst at the same time developing their horse riding skills. This course is not suitable for Advanced horse riders. Available only during Easter or the summer months, the horse riding part of the course will be delivered by Abbeyglen Riding Stables  , one of the best equestrian centres in Kerry.

The riding centre offers a series of delightful treks through the woodlands, as well as lessons, jumping, pony games and stable management in their indoor ménage area.
